For Donna O’Bryan, Redlands Coast isn’t just where she lives – it’s where life truly found its rhythm. After growing up in Sydney, Donna moved to the Redlands in 2001, drawn by the promise of lifestyle, community and natural beauty. More than 25 years later, Cleveland remains the place she proudly calls home.

Living with her partner Michael, Donna enjoys an active, social lifestyle shaped by the environment around her. Most days start with a foreshore walk along Raby Bay, followed by gym sessions, good coffee, and catching up with friends at local restaurants or trivia nights. Boating, the beach and visiting her “grand‑dogs” (three very spoilt pups belonging to her sons) round out a lifestyle that feels both relaxed and fulfilling.

A move that changed everything

Donna first discovered Redlands Coast during a weekend visit with family in nearby Manly. A drive through Cleveland and a quiet moment at the Grand View Hotel, taking in the calm bay views, sealed the decision.

“I remember thinking: this is a terrific place to raise a young family.”

Within six months, Donna had accepted a new opportunity with Qantas and made the move north – a decision shaped by the region’s schools, safe community feel and easy access to the bay and waterways.

Putting down roots in the Redlands

Redlands Coast quickly became more than a place to live; it became a place to invest, connect and contribute. Between 2003 and 2006, Donna operated Casa Vida Contemporary Homeware stores in Cleveland, Victoria Point and Capalaba Park, building strong ties to the local business community.

What continues to stand out is the village‑like feel of the Redlands — where people know each other, nature is never far away, and everyday life feels grounded and genuine.
