The island is known for beaches, gorges, wetlands, wildlife and a strong sense of community. Visitors regularly see koalas, kangaroos, turtles and dolphins. Cylinder Beach at Point Lookout has been voted one of Australia’s best beaches. Point Lookout is also one of the best land-based whale watching viewpoints on the eastern seaboard of Australia.

Straddie (as the locals call it) is serviced daily by both a passenger and car ferry out of Cleveland.
